| It is only after so so many years that you fully realise the price they and their families paid and still pay. Every year we have remembrance day (ANZAC day) in Australia and there is a South African contingent (SADF expats) that march with pride ??? As his acting platoon commander at the time of the accident my thoughts turn to him each year at this time. Lest we forget.. | ||

| "Bossie" as people knew you. A great Son, respected Brother,Excellent Father and Husband, and to me-the greatest Friend. We worked, battled, partied, planned, ran marathons together and shared our inner feelings. To me you were like a brother. I looked up to you and respected you. Looking down, you must be so proud of your children. I am. We all miss you and yet I often feel you close to me. You are always in my memories. Rest in peace my Friend. | ||

| Dedication | ||
| Fred was my Intelligence Officer (85-86) 53Bn - Ondangwa ! I only have the highest praise for him ! Had no idea he was KIA ? Sorry to hear ! I distinctly remember him banging me against my head after inserting my arm in the hollow of a tree to lift an AK47 cache (after a "PB" gave us the information of its whereabouts) near Oshakati ! He pointed out that it could have been booby-trapped ! I was a very eager DP (dienspligtige) then ! May you RIP Majoor Fred Lotter !!! | ||
