I would like to say what a good natured, happy and kind hearted person Raymond was. I knew you through being buddies while in the School of Armour during 1987 and 1988. I still have your letter you wrote to me from the "border". I remember having good jokes while in Durban at your Portuguese friend Jose cafe at Mont Blanc Marine Parade. Myself and Shane Cullen from Amanzimtoti came to visit your grave in Durban North. You were a fine ops medic and a good friend Raymond. We will always remember you. |

Ray, you were a great guy, and those of us who were up there together who have kept contact often speak about you. Your happiness and spirit on the border will always stay with me. You are and always will be a part of our conversation. To a great ops medic. |

I didn't know Raymond, but he was a fellow Ops Medic brother. Let us remember those who fell in the line of Service. |

Ray, I knew you growing up all through high school at Beachwood. You were at School of Armour and I was at 1SSB, the last time I saw you was the day before you went to the Border, you were excited and happy as you always were. You were a good person who always looked on the positive side of life. I will always remember you, my friend. |

Raymond Jagga, was the Medic attached to School of Armour's Tank Squadron which participated, as part of 61 Mechanised Infantry during the period June to October 1988. Raymond was killed during a SWAPO attack on the 61 Mechanised convoy returning from an excersise in the Operational Area. The Ratel in which he was travelling was struck by two RPG rockets. The first hit the engine, the second went through the door, which killed Raymond instantly. I will miss Raymond, as he was well liked by the Tank Crews. Regards Cpl William Surmon |
